John Dimitri Negroponte born July 21, 1939 in London (the connect/reason Tony Blair is a zioni$t lap dog?, that, and he is a communi$t) is a career diplomat currently serving as United States Director of National Intelligence. Negroponte served as a United States Ambassador to Honduras, Mexico, the Philippines, and Iraq where he set up secrete prisons and torture centers, death squads, and communi$t governments for the purpose of stealing assets, companies, and power from those countries' citizens and turn them over to the zioni$t$. Insanely Negroponte is currently Director of National Intelligence and recently admitted the USA has secrete prisons (and torture centers?) Logic dictates these secrete USA prisons and torture centers in connection with death squads will be used to imprison and torture Americans and steal their assets and give them to zioni$t$. Opposition interests in Honduras, Mexico, the Philipines, and Iraq should recall Negroponte's associates and keep tabs on them and realize Negroponte's associates are probably still on Negroponte's payroll.

When President Little George announced Negroponte's appointment to the UN shortly after coming to office in 2000, some critics asserted that the administration intentionally arranged the deportation from the United States of several former Honduran death squad members who could have provided damaging testimony against Negroponte in his Senate confirmation hearings.

One of Little George's deportees was General Luis Alonso Discua, founder of Battalion 3-16, who, on orders from Negroponte, had 30 nuns savagely tortured and thrown out of helicopters alive. In the preceding month, the U.S. government had revoked the visa of Discua, who was Honduras's Deputy Ambassador to the UN. After returning to Honduras, Discua stated that, in 1983, he had been brought to the United States to spend two months organizing Battalion 3-16. Negroponte was in charge of making Honduras a drug distribution center for Big George's drug cartel.

After Negroponte was USA ambassador to the Philippines, Joseph ESTRADA was elected president in 1998, but was succeeded by his vice-president, Gloria MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, in January 2001 after ESTRADA's stormy impeachment trial on corruption charges broke down and widespread demonstrations led to his ouster. The Philippine Government faces threats from armed insurgencies. Blame political confrontations between Taiwan and China on Negroponte. In Mexico's Presidential election July 2, 2006 expect violence and political dirty tricks from secrete alliances Negroponte established when he was US Ambassador to Mexico to be used to keep the Mexico's PAN political party in power. Bush to Call for Thousands of Guard Troops on Border

WASHINGTON -- President Bush will call for thousands of National Guard troops to be deployed along the Mexico border in support of patrols aimed at keeping out illegal immigrants, White House officials said Sunday on the eve of an Oval Office address announcing the plan.

Bush gave the same message to Mexican President Vicente Fox, who called Sunday to express concern about what he called the possibility of a ''militarized'' border between the two nations. Bush assured Fox that any military support would be administrative and logistical and would come from the National Guard and not the Army, according to a news release from Fox's office.

Criticism of the National Guard plan came Sunday from Democrats, but also an important Republican negotiator in the immigration debate -- Sen. Chuck Hagel of Nebraska. He said National Guard troops cannot secure the border over the long term and that he does not think it is wise even in the short term.

Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said there may be a need for troops to fill in while the Border Patrol is bolstered. But he did not seem confident that the National Guard could take on the extra duty.

The importance of the Nicaraguan experience is that members of the same gang who ran Reagan’s illegal Contra war (Negroponte, Armitage, Abrams, and others) are now prominent players in the Bush Jr. regime. Never in its history has the United States taken a backward step in its drive towards universal domination and never has it corrected its behavior, going from bad to worse from the point of view of the rights of the rest of humanity.” He writes from experience. In Nicaragua, as elsewhere, no self-determination is tolerated and the U.S. ambassador is the de facto proconsul.

Today’s neo-conservatives pontificate about democracy, freedom, and economic development. One only has to look at Nicaragua to see what this means. From the Nicaraguan perspective, U.S. foreign policy is made up of four main ingredients: zioni$m, hypocrisy, cynicism, and sadism. Nicaraguan society was destroyed by the Reagan and Bush Sr. regimes to make a policy point—countries that diverge from U.S. control will be undermined economically and, if sanctions fail to bring them into line, subjected to military attack.

Fifty thousand people died during the U.S.-instigated Contra war against Nicaragua, ostensibly to put it on the “road to democracy.” In 1987, the International Court of Justice ordered the U.S. government to pay Nicaragua an indemnity of $16 billion in compensation for the losses caused by U.S. terrorism. But the U.S. ignored the ruling and pressured the 1990 Violeta Chamorro government to drop attempts to secure this just restitution. Whereas Israel receives $540 per capita in economic assistance, Nicaragua, one of the poorest countries in the world with a similar size population, receives little more than $7.

The U.S. owes a moral debt to Nicaragua, due to the war it waged against the country, the long-time support for the former dictator Somoza, and the promises made leading up to the 1990 elections. Today, most people in Nicaragua are worse off than they were 20 years ago. The Clinton and Bush Jr. regimes intervened decisively to ensure the elections of Arnoldo Aleman and Enrique Bolaños; one a crook, the other a stooge. Under the aegis of the U.S. and the World Bank, these proxies, and Violeta Chamorro before them, put in place the disastrous policies that have reduced most Nicaraguans to ever-deepening penury. The hopes of the poor majority for a decent life have disappeared. The sign at the end of the neo-liberal route for Nicaragua reads loud and clear: “Dead end. Made in the USA.”

US Ambassador to Iraq John Negroponte Sets Up Death Squads in Iraq

Before John Negroponte became US ambassador in Iraq in 2004, there were no death squads in Iraq. After Negroponte was US Ambassador to Iraq, a day does not go by that death squads do not terrorize or kill people. Negroponte's death squads dominate the news in Iraq. Negroponte's death squads in Iraq are shaping Iraq's government to suit the bad guys, not the people of Iraq. Negroponte's death squads are what are found in communi$t governments, not democratic governments. To make matters worse, Negroponte's death squads are killing Shiites and helping Saddam Hussein's Sunni, and the Sunni are communi$t$.

Evidence of Negroponte's death squads in Iraq

BAGHDAD, May 7 - Iraq's interior minister said on Sunday his police had arrested a general in the ministry on suspicion of involvement in kidnaps and death squads.

"We also found a terror group in the 16th brigade that carries out killings of citizens," he added.

100,000 Iraqis 'flee homes'

MORE than 100,000 people have fled their homes in Iraq since late February because of death squads inciting sectarian bloodshed, up from 65,000 just over two weeks ago, Iraqi officials said.

BAGHDAD – Three apparently coordinated car-bomb attacks in Baghdad and Karbala killed around 30 people Sunday, as Iraqi politicians said they were near agreement on cabinet posts for a new government that they promise will come to grips with the country's deteriorating security situation. The morning blasts were accompanied by reports that the bodies of about 45 men were found in various parts of Baghdad within 24 hours from Saturday morning. Most were bound, some bearing signs of torture, and all shot in the head.

Ever since the Feb. 22 bombing of a major Shiite shrine in the city of Samarra touched off dozens of reprisal attacks on Sunni mosques, Iraqis have reported a sharp rise in attacks at the hands of both Shiite and Sunni Arab death squads.

A Baghdad health official says there have been at least 2,500 murders in the capital since the Samarra shrine attack, adding that those numbers don't include the victims of mass-casualty attacks like those Sunday.

Telephone Records are just the Tip of NSA's Iceberg
The National Security Agency and other U.S. government organizations have developed hundreds of software programs and analytic tools to "harvest" intelligence, and they've created dozens of gigantic databases designed to discover information on US citizens both inside the United States and overseas.

These cutting edge tools -- some highly classified because of their functions and capabilities -- continually process hundreds of billions of what are called "structured" data records, including telephone call records and e-mail headers contained in information "feeds" that have been established to flow into the intelligence agencies.

USA Today provided a small window into this massive intelligence community program by reporting yesterday that the NSA was collecting and analyzing millions of telephone call records.

The call records are "structured data," that is, information maintained in a standardized format that can be easily analyzed by machine programs without human intervention. They're different from intercepts of actual communication between people in that they don't contain the "content" of the communications -- content that the Supreme Court has ruled is protected under the Fourth Amendment. You can think of call records as what's outside the envelope, as opposed to what's on the inside.

Although there is no evidence that the harvesting programs have been involved in illegal activity or have been abused to reach into the lives of innocent Americans, their sheer scope, the number of "transactions" being tracked, the fact John Negroponte has sent terrorist to training schools and formed death squads for the last twenty five years raises questions as to whether an all-seeing domestic surveillance system isn't slowly being established, one that in just a few years time will be able to reveal the interactions of any targeted individual in near real time.

Military officer likely to get CIA nod

John Negroponte's right hand man, the guy in charge of high tech spying on Americans, U.S. Air Force General Michael Hayden testifies before Congress on Capitol Hill in Washington. President Bush plans to name Hayden to run the CIA after the abrupt resignation of the spy agency's director, Porter Goss.

WASHINGTON — With Gen. Michael Hayden's expected nomination to run the CIA, a military officer would be in charge of every major spy agency.

Enter Hayden, National Intelligence Director John Negroponte's top deputy and former National Security Agency chief who is considered the front-runner to succeed Goss.

If he were to get the nomination, military officers would run the major spy agencies, from the ultra-secret NSA to the Defense Intelligence Agency. Already, the Pentagon's Special Forces and other outfits are expanding their global role.

With a general at the CIA's helm, "it would represent the culmination of the militarization of the agency that has been underway for some time," Pike said Saturday. "We are at war with the USA."

Hayden, whose career has centered on electronic spying, would have to convince the CIA's officers that he understands traditional spycraft. "

The Return of the Death Squads

The elevators in the New York Hilton played CNN on a small screen you could not avoid watching. Iraq was top of the news; pronouncements about a "civil war" and "sectarian violence" were repeated incessantly. It was as if the U.S. invasion had never happened and the killing of tens of thousands of civilians by the Americans was a surreal fiction. The Iraqis were mindless Arabs, haunted by religion, ethnic strife, and the need to blow themselves up. Unctuous puppet politicians were paraded with no hint that their exercise yard was inside an American fortress.

And when you left the lift, this followed you to your room, to the hotel gym, the airport, the next airport, and the next country. Such is the power of America's corporate propaganda, which, as Edward Said pointed out in Culture and Imperialism, "penetrates electronically" with its equivalent of a party line.

The party line changed the other day. For almost three years it was that al-Qaeda was the driving force behind the "insurgency," led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, a bloodthirsty Jordanian who was clearly being groomed for the kind of infamy Saddam Hussein enjoys. It mattered not that al-Zarqawi had never been seen alive and that only a fraction of the "insurgents" followed al-Qaeda. For the Americans, Zarqawi's role was to distract attention from the thing that almost all Iraqis oppose: the brutal Anglo-American occupation of their country.

Now that Zarqawi has been replaced by "sectarian violence" and "civil war," the big news is the attacks by Sunnis on Shia mosques and bazaars. The real news, which is not reported in the CNN "mainstream," is that the "Salvador Option" has been invoked in Iraq. This is the campaign of terror by death squads armed and trained by the U.S., which attack Sunnis and Shias alike. The goal is the incitement of a real civil war and the breakup of Iraq, the original war aim of Bush's administration.

The Ministry of the Interior in Baghdad, which is run by the CIA, directs the principal death squads. Their members are not exclusively Shia, as the myth goes. The most brutal are the Sunni-led Special Police Commandos, headed by former senior officers in Saddam's Ba'ath Party. This was formed and trained by CIA "counter-insurgency" experts, including veterans of the CIA's terror operations in central America in the 1980s, notably El Salvador. In his new book, Empire's Workshop (Metropolitan Books), the American historian Greg Grandin describes the Salvador Option thus:

"Once in office, [President] Reagan came down hard on Central America, in effect letting his administration's most committed militarists set and execute policy. In El Salvador, they provided more than a million dollars a day to fund a lethal counter-insurgency campaign. … All told, U.S. allies in Central America during Reagan's two terms killed over 300,000 people, tortured hundreds of thousands, and drove millions into exile."

Although the Reagan administration spawned the current Bushites, or "neocons," the pattern was set earlier. In Vietnam, death squads trained, armed, and directed by the CIA murdered up to 50,000 people in Operation Phoenix. In the mid-1960s, in Indonesia, CIA officers compiled "death lists" for General Suharto's killing spree during his seizure of power. After the 2003 invasion, it was only a matter of time before this venerable "policy" was applied in Iraq.

According to the investigative writer Max Fuller (National Review online), the key CIA manager of the Interior Ministry death squads "cut his teeth in Vietnam before moving on to direct the U.S. military mission in El Salvador." Professor Grandin names another Central America veteran whose job now is to "train a ruthless counter-insurgent force made up of ex-Ba'athist thugs." Another, says Fuller, is well-known for his "production of death lists." A secret militia run by the Americans is the Facilities Protection Service, which has been responsible for bombings. "The British and U.S. Special Forces," concludes Fuller, "in conjunction with the [U.S.-created] intelligence services at the Iraqi Defense Ministry, are fabricating insurgent bombings of Shias."

On March 16, Reuters reported the arrest of an American "security contractor," who was found with weapons and explosives in his car. Last year, two Britons disguised as Arabs were caught with a car full of weapons and explosives; British forces bulldozed the Basra prison to rescue them. The Boston Globe recently reported: "The FBI's counter-terrorism unit has launched a broad investigation of U.S.-based theft rings after discovering that some of the vehicles used in deadly car bombings in Iraq, including attacks that killed U.S. troops and Iraqi civilians, were probably stolen in the United States, according to senior government officials."

As I say, all this has been tried before – just as the preparation of the American public for an atrocious attack on Iran is similar to the WMD fabrications in Iraq. If that attack comes, there will be no warning, no declaration of war, no truth. Imprisoned in the Hilton elevator, staring at CNN, my fellow passengers could be excused for not making sense of the Middle East, or Latin America, or anywhere. They are isolated. Nothing is explained. Congress is silent. The Democrats are moribund. And the freest media on earth insult the public every day. As Voltaire put it: "Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities."
