Owner of Ace Hardware, 6756 Market Street, Wilmington, NC 28405 Steals Bookcase From Customer
A friend of mine purchased a nice bookcase from Ace Hardware on Market Street. She bought it and took it to her house and everything is/was fine and dandy. She decided she liked it so much she called Ace Hardware again and asked if they had the bookcase in stock which they did. I took her back out to Ace and she paid them the money and as she did not have a trailer to pick it up asked Ace if they would keep it for her. They said, "No problem" we will put it in the back with her name on it. She called Ace a couple of times to see if there was a problem with her leaving it there and each time they said "No problem." Well I got my trailer and went out to pick it up and there was a sign on the door, shut down due to bad business. I received an e-mail from Ace saying everyone would get paid in full. She wrote Ace an e-mail saying she needed her bookcase to match the other bookcase. A person e-mailed back saying he/she would check with the owner. Nothing more has been heard back. What has happened is the owner of Ace Hardware decided to steal the bookcase rather than turn it over to its rightful owner. So if anyone who reads this comes in contact with the owner of Ace Hardware, 6756 Market Street, Wilmington, NC, and the owner gives some song and dance about how the poor economy got him and he did his best to treat people fairly, remember there is at least one customer he stole from. His theft of this bookcase had nothing to do with a lousy economy. He had a choice between doing right or wrong, and he chose the low road, theft. I don't know the owner's name, but I'll give you mine, Randy Crow.
